Show a Shopify dispatch date before the order.
A shipping policy can explain your process, but a shopper still wants a date for the product in front of them. A dispatch date turns a production lead time into a specific expectation before checkout.
Separate making time from travel time
Dispatch is the handoff to the courier. Delivery is the arrival at the customer's address. A product that takes several working days to make still needs carrier transit after dispatch. Label the storefront message so the shopper can tell which date they are reading.
Dispatchly calculates the dispatch date from your production schedule. It does not calculate a carrier arrival date. Keep delivery information in the part of your store that explains shipping methods and transit.
Put the message beside the purchase decision
Add the Dispatchly product app block through your Online Store 2.0 theme editor. Preview the product template, including its mobile layout, so the date is readable near the product information shoppers use before buying.
Configure the store timezone, working days and cutoff before publishing. For products with different production needs, use a product or collection rule rather than changing your store's default for everyone.
Before you finish
- Call the date a dispatch or ships-by date.
- Check a standard product and one with a longer lead time.
- Review the storefront around your cutoff and non-working days.
