Effective September 12, 2026.
ClearRoom is a free iPhone inspection toolkit provided by TMK Apps. It has no account, ads, analytics, tracking SDKs, subscriptions or in-app purchases. We do not collect or receive inspection data.
Camera and temporary clips
Quick Check does not start the camera. Camera permission is requested when you start the optional infrared check or individual lens viewer. Record sweep creates a short silent video on your iPhone. ClearRoom adds no microphone input and requests no microphone or photo-library access. No footage is uploaded by ClearRoom.
Sweep clips are temporary, protected by iOS data protection and excluded from backups. Leaving or backgrounding the infrared check deletes its clip. After an unexpected exit, temporary clips are removed on the next app launch. Deletion failures are shown. Save or share clip opens the iOS share sheet only when you choose it; a copy you export is handled by its destination and is not removed by ClearRoom.
In the ordinary lens viewer, a still photo is taken only when requested. Saving a photo observation stores its photo inside the app. Photos are re-encoded without camera metadata.
Local network discovery
Quick Check and the network tool request Local Network permission. They browse Bonjour RTSP, HTTP, HTTPS, AirPlay, AirPlay audio, Google Cast and IPP printing services and try TCP connections to ports 80, 443, 554, 8554, 8000 and 8080 on the connected Wi-Fi IPv4 subnet, up to 1,022 host addresses. HTTP HEAD and RTSP OPTIONS requests may read service headers; port 443 is checked only for connectivity. These requests can be visible to the network and receiving devices. ClearRoom does not attempt logins, open video streams, access stored device recordings or upload results.
Results stay in memory. Quick Check may continue while you navigate within ClearRoom. Stop, Finish check and backgrounding stop its discovery. The individual network tool stops when you leave it.
Bluetooth discovery
The optional Bluetooth tool requests Bluetooth permission and listens for nearby Bluetooth Low Energy advertisements for up to 30 seconds per check. Device-supplied names, service identifiers, signal readings and last-seen times stay in memory on this iPhone. ClearRoom does not pair with devices, connect to them, access their content or upload Bluetooth results. Leaving the tool or backgrounding stops scanning. Devices may be outside the room, and their names are not verified identities.
Magnetic readings and saved notes
Magnetic measurements run only in the individual magnetic tool and stop when you leave it or background the app. Readings stay in memory unless saved as an observation.
Existing notes and photos are stored in an iOS-protected file inside the app, excluded from backups, without iCloud sync. Deleting ClearRoom removes its local data. Export records you want to keep first. Current observations can be deleted from their detail screen. Previous inspections remain in the journal until you delete the app.
Sharing and choices
Exports use the iOS share sheet and happen only when you choose them. The receiving app or service handles shared content under its own policy. Guide links open external websites with their own policies.
You can deny camera, network, Bluetooth or motion permissions and still use other available tools, the checklist, notes and guide. Change permissions in iPhone Settings.
