Write your script, choose how it scrolls, and record a take. Here’s how to get started.

Add a script

Create a script in the library or import a plain text, RTF or text-based PDF file from Files. Imports can be up to 5 MB. Scanned PDFs need selectable text before Sopro can read them. Choose English or Brazilian Portuguese for each script.

Choose your pace

Voice follows your speech on the device. Auto scrolls at the speed you choose. Manual lets you move through the script yourself. Voice following may first download an Apple language model; keep Sopro open while it prepares.

If voice following is unavailable or the microphone is interrupted, Sopro shows the problem and pauses it. It keeps your selected mode. You can resume when the microphone is available, or choose a different mode yourself.

Record and watch

Open a script and turn on the camera to record video, or record audio without it. After saving, open the take from the recording screen or the Recordings library. Videos keep their recorded proportions. On iPhone, the player opens in the video's orientation. On iPad, rotate the device or resize the window to choose the viewing orientation. In landscape, the controls move to the side so the script has more room.

Use the floating script

Open the floating preview, then start the floating window before switching apps. The window shows a few scrolling lines. Drag it to a clear part of the screen. If iOS tucks it against an edge, tap the edge tab to bring it back.

Auto scrolling leaves the microphone available for the other app. Voice following depends on iOS allowing Sopro to keep microphone access; another app’s recording can interrupt it. Return to Sopro to check the status and control the reading. Sopro does not silently switch scrolling modes.

Keep a copy

Recordings are saved inside Sopro. Use Share to save a copy in Files or send it to another app. Deleting Sopro removes its local library, so export any recordings you want to keep first.
